PTCGL Code Cards Still Included in Mega Evolution Booster Packs

If you were worried about getting less Pokémon TCG Live code cards starting with Mega Evolution, there is good news. Despite recent confusion, The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) has confirmed that Mega Evolution booster packs will continue to include both a code card and an Energy card.

The confusion started when product images for the Mega Evolution booster box claimed each pack would include either a code card or an Energy card, not both. This led to speculation among players who rely on code cards to unlock content in PTCGL. We were all convinced that this was going to be the new reality!

TPCi has now clarified that the packaging was incorrect and that no changes are being made to the standard booster pack contents.

However, some premium boxed products like the Salamence ex and Reshiram ex collections will stop including physical code cards. TPCi stated that players will still be able to access these digital promo cards through other means in Pokémon TCG Live.

For those focused on collecting and playing online, standard booster packs remain unchanged. You will still get your code cards as usual for use in PTCGL.
